DALLAS AGA
Whereof what's past is prologue, what to come in
yours and my discharge - Shakespeare
This history is dedicated
to all the past and present members with the hope that it will inspire the
future members to keep the Dallas AGA chapter a worthwhile and successful
organization. In 1990, I updated earlier
chapter histories prepared by Thomas Maher in 1975, and others in 1979.
No documents and little other
information about the Dallas Chapter survived in our files from the early days.
If you have or know of any early records, please contact us about sharing
copies of such documents. In particular,
we are seeking items such as the original 1956 charter from AGA National,
newsletters, membership lists, directories, correspondence, photos, awards, etc. We would also appreciate you sharing any additional
memories of meetings and meeting places, activities, events, and members. Last
year, I found that the chapter was mentioned about 50 times in the Dallas
Morning News database. I used these
references and other input for this version.
Please provide any additions or corrections to the chapter or to me
(email: mrwilke@sbcglobal.net).
The history will be posted on the Chapter website so it will be more
visible and likely kept current.
